LEADING WITH INTEGRITY

In the marketplace, everything rises and falls on leadership.  The Kingdom of God is about servant leaders, leaders that bring the influence of the Kingdom into the marketplace.  When you bring the influence of the Kingdom we are talking about Christ-like character, which brings the highest level of integrity.  Proverbs 11:3 states “The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.”  Integrity is a moral and ethical soundness, it is to be mature, honest and operate with excellence.  It is how you treat others.  King David was Israel’s greatest king and a man that walked in integrity.

Psalm 41:11-12 “By this, I know that You favor and delight in me, because my enemy does not triumph over me, and as for me, You have upheld me in my integrity and set me in Your presence forever.”  We see here that God took hold of David and sustained and elevated him because of his integrity.  But it is not just about being a king or leader, it is about your character and how you lead.  God took note of David’s integrity and set him in His presence forever.  Perhaps God is looking at our integrity.

We all have a responsibility to present Godly character in everything we do.  So, the question may be how do I do this?  I suggest implementing the golden rule.  Matthew 7:12 “Therefore whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and the prophets.” Or we could go with Mark 12:31 “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  These scriptures require me to put what is best for others ahead of what is best for myself.  This produces friendship and loyalties that open the door for change in the marketplace.  The only way we will ever bring change, is to apply the Word of God in every situation
